An Approach for Geochemical Assessment of Chipilapa Geothermal Field
نویسنده
چکیده
It presents a systematic methodology to evaluate the reservoir characteristics of ChipilapaAhuachapan geothermal field through the highly diluted natural manifestations (springs and domestic wells) in its surroundings. The manifestations are classified in three main groups according to their mechanism of formation: high salinity water (HSW), medium salinity water (MSW), and Sulfated Water (SW). The reservoir temperature at Chipilapa geothermal field is around 220°C which is estimated with application of various chemical geothermometers. The isotopic studies indicate that the heating of local meteoric water with the separated steam of deep reservoir fluids is a dominating process in the formation of springs and domestic wells fluids. The process of formation of primary and secondary vapor explains the isotopic composition of fumaroles.

Reconnaissance exploration of potential geothermal sites in Kerman province, using Curie depth calculations
In this paper an indirect method is presented to detect potential geothermal sites in Kerman province, southeast Iran. Geothermal heat flux is one of the main parameters to be investigated in geothermal exploration programs. However, few direct heat flux measurements are available for Iran. Given the proved relation between Curie depths and heat flux, magnetic data can be used to calculate the ...
متن کاملDetermining fractal parameter and depth of magnetic sources for ardabil geothermal area using aeromagnetic data by de-fractal approach
The Ardabil geothermal area is located in the northwest of Iran, which hosts several hot springs. It is situated mostly around the Sabalan Mountain. The Sabalan geothermal area is now under investigation for the geothermal electric power generation. It is characterized by its high thermal gradient and high heat flow. In this study, our aim is to determine the fractal parameter and top and botto...
متن کاملAn Integrated Baseline Geodatabase for Facilitating the Environmental Impact Assessment Process: Case Study of Sabalan Geothermal Project, Iran
Baseline data represent one of the important stages of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) procedure that describes the existing environment of the study area and surrounding areas in enough detail to allow the environmental impacts of the proposed area to be accurately and adequately assessed, and future changes and effects can be measured. Baseline data may be inaccurate, difficult to obtai...
متن کاملReservoir Assessment of the Olfus-bakki Low-temperature Geothermal Area, Sw Iceland
The Olfus-Bakki geothermal area (OBGA) in SW Iceland is located in the S and SE margins of the high-enthalpy systems of Hveragerdi and Hengill, respectively. This geothermal area contains a productive region, denominated the Bakki field, which produces fluid at temperatures in the range of 100-130 °C. Since 1979, the geothermal resource has supplied thermal energy to the town of Thorlakshofn, m...
متن کاملGeothermal Energy for Natural Gas Compressor Stations; an Environmental and Economical Assessment
Iran’s environmental condition is critical, since it is experiencing desertification, unsustainable development and overpopulation. The objective of this study is power source replacement in natural gas stations that operate with natural gas compressors, through using electrical motors, which can be fed by a 160 MW geothermal power plant, as an alternative to gas turbines. Application of such a...
